There is no need to join a gym — you can do home exercises to lose weight. Too many people put off exercising because joining a gym can be prohibitively expensive and you also have to factor in the time that it takes to get there, carrying a different set of clothes and things for showering, and exercising around strangers. But you don’t have to go to a gym to lose weight. Check out these great reasons for exercising at home.
1. It’s free. In this economy, this is probably one of the best reasons to exercise at home. You don’t have to spend a lot of money to get healthy. Eat right and get in some exercise. You’ll be fit in no time at all.
2. Nobody’s watching. If you have a lot of weight to lose, it can be intimidating to work out at the gym, where there are a lot of people that are more fit than you. When you work out at home, nobody is there to see you except for your family–and they have to love you!
3. It’s convenient. Only got a few minutes at a time? You can easily squeeze in a few exercises. You don’t have to make a big production out of exercising. Do what you can, when you can.
4. It’s effective. Working out at a gym isn’t necessarily more effective than working out at home. You can just as easily get in a good workout at home as you can at the gym.
5. You’ll encourage your family to get fit too. When you sneak off to the gym, no one in your family sees what you do to get fit. You set a good example for your kids when you workout at home. They may even want to join you–something that they can’t do if you go to a gym.
To start a successful exercise routine at home, think about what types of activities you enjoy doing. If you like walking, go for a walk after dinner. If you like dancing, turn up the music and start shaking your booty. You can also purchase a few tools, such as an exercise ball, resistance bands or exercise videos to help you out.
