Body Image Mastery and the One Pinky Community is a weight loss program like none I have seen before. You’ll find no suggestions of what to eat, no rigid exercise program to follow. You don’t have to strictly limit your foods for the first week or two–you don’t have to strictly limit anything. Body Image Mastery doesn’t focus on changing your diet or exercising. It focuses on changing the reasons why you overeat.

Laura’s Story

BIM was created by Laura Fenamore. She struggled with her weight a lot, going on diet after diet, always to regain the weight. Even when she became skinny, she found that she wasn’t really happy. What’s In It?

The Body Image Mastery program has 12 workbooks. Depending on the time frame that you choose when you sign up, you either do one workbook per week or one per month. It’s the same workbook, the only difference is the speed at which you can get the next workbook. You may think that a month is too long to wait to get a new workbook, but it’s heavy stuff–you’ll be looking deep within yourself, possibly uncovering painful memories that you didn’t even know that you had. I recommend choosing one month unless you have a lot of free time.

Body Image Mastery Review

This is an extensive course, not just a short ebook. Each workbook in the series is more than 20 pages. It would be impossible to give a full rundown of the entire course in the space I have hear, but let me expand a bit upon the first Body Image Mastery workbook.

It starts with a bit of discussion about the terminology used in the book. For example, Ms. Fenamore will talk a lot through the course about your “story”. This refers to the story you (consciously or subconsciously) tell about your body, or your body image. She’ll also introduce you to Miss Sparkle Fairy, which is a cute graphic that encourages you to lighten up.

Ms. Fenamore then discusses how we often see our bodies and what’s wrong with the way that we look at them. Of course, everyone’s body image is different, but if you have to lose weight, there are probably many things that you hate about your body. At the same time, you may be subconsciously hindering weight loss because that layer of fat protects you in some ways. For example, if you were hurt in a relationship, you may be holding on to your fat as a way to keep yourself unattractive–so that no one will every love you (and leave you) again.

Another writer, Jaime Mintun, also chimes in with her story. Her entries are like a diary of going through the course. You’ll see her writing in each of the workbooks.

You then get to the meat of the Body Image Mastery workbook. We learn about change, getting ready for change, and being willing to start from where you are. Ms. Fenamore leads you through a series of questions to help you better understand yourself. Essentially, she’s trying to get you to understand what you are telling yourself about your body.

Body Image Mastery Customer Review

To give you an example from one reader’s personal life: her weight had fluctuated over the years. When she was at her heaviest (more than 220 pounds), she actually had a pretty good body image. She would look in the mirror and think, “Hey, I look pretty good.”

After being diagnosed with PCOS (poly cystic ovary syndrome) she started to take steps to get her weight more under control. She gradually changed her eating habits and started exercising. A couple of years later, she weighed 145. She was incredibly skinny compared to her old weight. Yet, every time she looked in the mirror, she would say “Look at how fat you are.” She was no longer comfortable in her body.

Realizing that you would say that to yourself is a big part of starting the healing process. It makes it a lot easier to catch yourself and try to turn it into a more positive outlook. It’s discoveries like this that you’ll learn in the Body Image Mastery Course.

Does It Work?

The process in the workbooks is intense and if you really want it to work for you, then you have to work the program. You can’t just skim over the questions and expect to be healed. You have to really think through your dreams and fears. This type of thing can be quite hard for many people, so you will be glad of the support that you get with this program.

In addition to the Body Image Mastery course, you also get access to the One Pinky community. This is a set of forums where you can interact with others on the same path of transformation and even speak to Laura herself. Laura also holds weekly conference calls where you can ask questions.

The Body Image Mastery package may not be for everyone. It’s true that it is a bit more expensive than many other products on the market, but it is also very different. This is for people who know that the quick fix will not do them any favors in the long term, if it even works at all. What Body Image Mastery will do, is help you to change the way that you think about yourself–which will result in an effortless weight loss.
